That’s just what we did with our newest property, Mystique Blue Boutique Suites, located on the paradisiacal island of Holbox, Mexico. Holbox, meaning black hole in the Mayan language, is an island in the Mexican state of Quintana Roo, located on the north coast of the Yucatán Peninsula. Although it is one of the smallest islands in Mexico, it’s only 26 miles long, it is filled with unique adventures that you’ll be able to experience if you choose to make it your next TravelSmart VIP getaway destination.
Swim with whale sharks
Most people visit Isla Holbox during the summer months for a chance to get up close and personal with whale sharks, the largest fish in the sea. Truly a unique experience! A once in a lifetime experience that you would be hard pressed to forget. Take a day tour to visit these impressive beasts and marvel at their grace while swimming alongside them. Check out the street art
One of our favorite things to do on Holbox is just wander around the unpaved streets and check out the street art and little independent shops and restaurants. Discover the quaint shops and cool murals on a Caribbean Island, of all places! You’re sure to find stunning street art brightening up every street. Get your camera and get exploring!
Swinging in a Hammock over the Ocean
Another one of the most quintessential things to do on Holbox is swing in one of the sea hammocks! The ocean swings and hammocks are an iconic part of the island and create the most amazing photo opportunities. Here you can have a moment where Instagram meets reality. The Sunsets on Isla Holbox are incredible, every night you can watch the sun go down from a swing at the bar or hammock on the island.
