Sustainable Tourism: A way of life at Royalton White Sands

For the fourth consecutive year, Royalton White Sands has been awarded the Green Globe certification for sustainable tourism.

Green Globe’s International Standard for Sustainable Tourism was the first standard developed by and for the travel & tourism industry over 20 years ago. Green Globe is the only international program to recognise companies within the travel industry that demonstrate a long-term commitment to incorporating sustainable practices into their overall day to day operations.

One of Royalton White Sands’ most notable achievements is their connection to the local community. They are active in bringing on and training local staff as well as incorporating cultural practices as part of their service style. They are also keen to source local products, including cosmetics made from natural ingredients for their spa, through to purchasing seasonal produce for traditional Jamaican dishes in their restaurants.

Royalton White Sands’ commitment to their local environment also extends to community support. Along with leading weekly clean-ups of the surrounding area, the resort has also been responsible for launching a local tree-planting project and programming a variety of different activities to keep care of the local environment front of mind within the local community.
