If you try any of these hacks this Halloween don’t forget to share photos with us on social media using the hashtag #TSVhalloween
DIY Halloween Hacks #1: Mummy Door
This one is very easy. All you will need is white tulle, 2 paper plates, two pieces of black paper, and a little bit of white tape. Use the black paper and white paper plates to create a large set of eyes. When they are ready use the tulle and begin wrapping your door. When that’s all wrapped up, place the ‘eyes’ in between the layers of Tulle!
And…BOOO! Now your Mummy Door is ready and spooky.
DIY Halloween Hacks #2: Spooky Eyes
This one is a fun and easy way for you and the kids to spook up the house and garden.
For this DIY Halloween Hack, all you will need is a pair of scissors, toilet (or kitchen) paper tubes, glow sticks, and tape.
Draw one set of eyes on each tube! When designing your tube think about what kind of monster you want to make and get creative with the eyes. Remember you will be cutting the eyes out. Once you have cut the eye holes from the tube, take your glow stick and place it inside. Tape up each end of the tube to stop the light (and the glow-stick) from coming out the sides
Test it by turning off the lights. (Remember to not crack all of the glow-sticks when testing. Use one and save the others for Halloween.) It should look like a pair of eyes is staring at you in the dark!
Now take your family outside and hid them in bushes to scare the neighbors! Muahahahahaha!
DIY Halloween Hacks #3: Smoking Pumpkins
This is probably the easiest hack of all. Carve pumpkins with your kids. The great thing about this DIY Halloween Hack is that you can carve any design into the pumpkin! They all look great! Once you are done carving, place a tea light and a cup of water and dry ice inside. *Remember to use extreme care when handling dry ice!
Place the pumpkins outside the front door or in the yard and you will have a fleet of pumpkin heads spewing smoke all around.
Most importantly have fun and enjoy! Have a Happy Halloween with TravelSmart VIP.
