Many of us have experienced the infamous, “Monday Blues”. In this day and age, too many people go into Monday with this sort of sentiment and worst of all this can affect the rest of your week!
Here are some tips and tricks to help you avoid the Monday blues and start the week off right:
First, make a list Make a list of the weekly things to do and include the things you are looking forward too…if there isn’t anything then make sure you plan something you will enjoy! It can be going to the movies, going to the gym, hanging out with friends or catching up on some of your favourite shows.
Get the unpleasant tasks done first. The most productive thing you can do for yourself is to get the things you dislike the most out of the way first. It is not the most fun tip but I guarantee it makes the rest of the week a lot easier.
Be a go-getter but don’t overload yourself on the first day. Whilst this may seem contradictory to, “Get the unpleasant tasks done first”, it isn’t completely. The idea is to be productive but don’t cram it all into Monday just because you think the rest of the week will be easier. There is no benefit to burning yourself out mentally in one day.
Get sufficient rest. This will keep you refreshed and avoid looking like Droopy Dog in the later years. That means before going to sleep, get off of the cell phone, laptop, iPad, and television. No screens! Use the opportunity to make your list for the next day, read a book, talk to your loved ones or prep for your morning ritual. Now if you can’t seem to sleep early at least try a melatonin. That will at least help you feel refreshed.
Dress to impress. As they say…Dress good. Feel Good. Feel good play good. Not only will that make you feel better but your charisma may just give others a little more pep. Making someone else smile is a great way to make yourself smile…it’s infectious.
